01-26-08 London UK: 0135 hrs. Back from the show. Tonight I was at the Shepard’s Bush Empire for the release of the Ruts live DVD. Initially, I was only going to introduce the film but things sometimes happen. Captain Sensible was playing and intended to have Johnny Moped sing Staring At The Rudeboys. I was really looking forward to this. Then we found out that Moped wasn’t going to make it. Captain was going to ask Jimmy Pursey to do it. I don’t know if he did or not but at one point Captain asked me if I would do it. I went to the promoter and asked her if that was alright with her, she said it was. Then I went and asked Segs, the Ruts bass player what he thought and he liked the idea so I went back to the dressing room and told Captain I was good to go and we should rehearse, Captain, his drummer and I did the song in the dressing room and a few minutes later, we went out there and did live. That will be a definite high point in my life, being onstage with Captain Sensible. TV Smith did an acoustic version of Babylon’s Burning that was so great. All in all the night was really good. I met Esso of the Lurkers, that was really cool. So, that was my night off and it’s over and now is the biggest show of the whole tour, Hammersmith.
