02-23-08 Athens GA: 2008 hrs. Backstage at the 40 Watt. I am now four shows into the US leg of this tour. I must say, I have been looking forward to these shows since we left the road in America last November. As well, to all the people who have been coming out to the shows the last few nights, I want to say thank you for being so great. It’s been a really good tour so far. I have been pushing myself pretty hard as usual but I have not been eating enough I think and I kinda ran myself down and sitting here now, I am aching from head to toe with a show in about 45 minutes from now. I think I’ll be ok but I will have to watch my voice because when I am like this, the first thing to go is my voice. The fever that was burning me up earlier is down somewhat and I know I will be so glad to get out there that I will feel better as soon as the show starts. I didn’t go out and walk around Athens as I usually do when I am here because I felt so damn bad. I have a day off coming up in DC soon that I am looking forward to, I just hope I am good to walk around and see stuff. The radio show on Tuesday night should be worth checking out. It’s going to be co-hosted live by Shepard Fairey, they great artist and his friend, some guy named Tony Alva. Yes, that’s right. Alva on the radio. Come on, this is going to be great! I initially asked Shepard if he wanted to do it and he said yes and then he asked if he could bring someone and I said sure and then he told me who it was and I reckoned it was going to be a show worth checking out. If you get a newsletter about this, sorry about the repeated info but I want to make sure everyone gets a heads up on this one. I have to get ready to get out there. I can’t wait. This is a great club. 2021 hrs.
