04-19-06 Melbourne Australia: 1733 hrs. I am backstage, about to do soundcheck for night #02 of a three show run here. Last night was good and shot for a DVD that will come out later in the year. Tonight the lighting will be different because of the lack of cameras so we will work on that as soon as we take care of the sound. The shows in Australia have been good so far but they are far from over. I still have two here and 4 in Sydney. I like the multiple nights in one city because it gives me a break from the airports. It’s not easy doing two airports and then right into soundcheck and a show. That’s how touring is in Australia with the cities being so distant from each other. I have no show tomorrow night but I have work and meetings for a good part of the day and evening so it’s not that much of a break ‡ I am sorry that I have not kept up on the entries. I forget to do them when I am traveling in this way, there’s a lot of hustle and not a lot of time to sit still. I will try to do better. Last night was 60 shows for the year so far, there’s a lot more to go. There will be shows in Europe in August and in the fall in America and Canada. When all those dates firm up, we’ll post them immediately. Since I’ve been here, it’s been show after show and the days off have been gym and book work so I don’t have anything all that interesting to impart. Sometimes, it’s just shows, backstage areas and that’s about it. Like I said, the shows have been good, the audiences have been fantastic and overall, it’s been a good run and I am grateful for the chance to do the shows.
