06-07-08 LA CA: 1808 hrs. I am at the Geffen / MOCA in downtown LA. I am waiting for the PA System to get put together so we can do soundcheck. Tonight Target Video will be showing a bunch of music videos from their vast collection and they asked me to provide two hours of music from back in the day before the videos start. I put together about 2.5 hours of music and it’s here on the laptop and hopefully I will be able to plug in and we can let the music play. I will stick around for the music part obviously but I don’t think I will be able to hang in there for the videos. I have seen many of them and as good as they are, I don’t want to go back to some of those places. I have a lot to do tomorrow starting early and ending late so I will sneak out of here in a few hours. No one will notice. I am glad to be a part of the event though. The target Video people were always good to Black Flag and gave The Teen Idles a place to stay when they came to San Francisco in the summer of 1980. That’s how long I’ve known the Target people. Damn.
06-08-08 LA CA: 2329 hrs. I can’t believe I am still up. I have been going since 0400 hrs. Last night was good. I stayed at the event until they were done with the music I brought in and started in on the videos. I left after the videos were on. I had to get up early in the morning and sometimes seeing the past is depressing to me and I figured I would be better off getting some sleep and prepare for all the things I had to do today. I had early stuff at the office, an on camera interview starting at 0800 hrs. and then a photography lesson downtown and then radio stuff and workout back here. I am tired and the weekend was a blur. This will be a busy week but it should be good. I have all the set lists ready for my shifts on Steve Jones show on Indie 103. I am hoping they go well. Day time radio really isn’t my thing but I’ll do my best not to alienate too many of the listeners.
