DISPATCHES

07-11-09 LA CA: 1039 hrs. I got back to LA last Sunday. I was pretty beat from the shows and all the travel and when I tried to write something to send you, I could not concentrate. I wrote small entries on three separate days and hoped that would be ok. Then two things happened. First, we lost all internet access and I was unable to send out anything. I was using the wireless at the Sons Of Anarchy set but forgot to send out what I had written. The other thing that happened was that many of my files became corrupted and what I wrote is now gone. All my writing from the last two weeks is gone as well. That smarts.

I won’t be getting any internet access for several days so I am going to send this from KCRW later on today when I show up for work.

Let’s see, to re-cap. The shows in Europe were good and the audiences were really great to me. I never know how those festivals are going to go and am always relieved when things work out. There’s not a lot to tell you about the European dates. Things went smoothly and due to scheduling, I was unable to see any bands.

This last week was a blur of jet lag and obligation. I had Sons Of Anarchy work as well as meetings and office stuff that had me scrambling. I saw Vieux Farka Touré at the Troubadour last Tuesday night. Damn, that was a good show. I have seen him twice this year. The first time was in Mali and he was great but the other night, he killed it.

I am in day five of no internet so I am somewhat behind on things. The fact that I lost all that writing has me distracted and angry and I don’t feel like writing at this time. On Monday, I will contact our computer guy, Tat. Perhaps he can go all forensic on some of the files and find some more information on them than I can but I doubt it. Thanks for reading this. Henry
