Fanatic! I’m back in Los Angeles. I had a great week in Germany at the Wacken Festival.
Fanatic, we have such a great show lined up for you. The Cigarettes track is really smart. I’ve had that 7” for decades.
If you notice, we have a track credited to Dee Dee Ramone, from his solo album Zonked but if the vocals sound like Joey Ramone, that’s because it is. One of the few guest appearances Joey ever did.
In our second hour, the Gun Club track Nobody’s City is one of my favorites of theirs, also that it was a B side, makes it even cooler.
I thought I should explain a little about the last track of the night, the Roll Call with JJ Starr. Mr. Starr was a dj in Washington, DC and about forty years ago, part of his radio show was for listeners to leave their names on the station’s message machine, and JJ would read them out. Some of the names are so intense. Whenever I was in DC in those days, I would try to record the roll call. I hope you like it in all its compressed AM mono glory
