RADIO HELSINKI #01

Radio Helsinki Listener! My name is Henry Rollins and I was given the great opportunity to put together some shows for Radio Helsinki.

Months ago, the station contacted me and asked if I would be interested in putting together twelve shows to run weekly over the summer. I said yes and got to work on the first show immediately.

If all goes according to plan, we will be together for twelve shows! The dates are as follows:

01. June 07 2017
02. June 14 2017
03. June 21 2017
04. June 28 2017
05. July 05 2017
06. July 12 2017
07. July 19 2017
08. July 26 2017
09. August 02 2017
10. August 09 2017
11. August 16 2017
12. August 23 2017

With this many shows, there were a lot of different ways to go. I listen to a lot of music from Finland. You should hear me on my radio show on KCRW 89.9 FM in California as I try to pronounce Kemialliset Ystävät or Tomutonttu. Actually, it’s probably better that you didn’t. At least I have the records. I figured I would stay away from Finnish music as you would probably be familiar with it and it would be too frustrating to fail at pronouncing Finnish words to a Finnish audience. Believe it or not, bands from Finland make up a large part of my listening. I would like to hear more of their work and learn more about them.

I also decided that perhaps it was best to stay away from too much Drone, Noise, Musique Concrète and other Avant forms of music. These genres make up a large part of my listening as well. It’s one thing to listen to some of these records in your room but on the radio, in context with other music, I don’t know if it works as well. I am in no way trying to imply that you don’t have the ability to appreciate all kinds of music. I am sure there is nothing you can’t handle, it’s just that just because a piece of music is good, it doesn’t mean it’s right for a certain kind of radio show.

Since there is time for about ninety some minutes of music per show, my goal was to make a really good C-90 mix tape. For the most part, I wanted to keep the sonic landscape changing frequently try to match the music to the temperature and light cycle you will be experiencing in the weeks to come. From what I was able to gather, your high temperatures will be in the low 20’s Celsius and since the show goes on at 1900 hrs., then it will be daylight. Believe it or not, I actually put together these shows with that in mind.

I know that might sound strange and it probably is but I associate certain bands/albums/songs with different times of the year. To me, there is cold weather listening, warm, hot, etc. There are records I will not play in the day time. Maybe a song or two but not the entire album. Here are some examples of what I mean. Will we listen to David Bowie? Of course! Just not anything from Station To Station, Low, or Heroes. To me, those are not warm weather Bowie albums. Will we listen to music by The Damned? We better! Just not anything from the Black Album. If we were together in October, we might listen to the entire album. These associations are exactly that. It’s in my head, basically. I think it comes from all the years I have been on the road and dragging tapes all over the place with me for months at a time.

Hopefully, you will dig the show enough to check it out all the way through and maybe even listen to it again.

I have had a radio show in America for well over a decade. I sometimes do guest “residencies” if you will, on stations all over the world, kind of like what I’m doing with Radio Helsinki. I occasionally substitute for The Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of Rock and Roll, that would be Iggy Pop, on his BBC Radio 6 show. Getting music out to people is one of the best things I have ever been able to do. One of my main aims is to of course, make a really good show but more than that, to perhaps make you curious to where you go search out more information on some of these bands and actually get the records, thus helping to keep the band moving forward. In my opinion, great bands and music is ours to lose when we don’t show our support.

You might think I’m a maniac, (which is most likely the case) but I try to buy one to three records a day and try to listen to five minimum. I actually keep lists of what I listen to and in what order. You want to see one? No problem! Here’s from April of this year.

I don’t think you can ever have enough music. How many is too many records? I would like to find out!

As I write this to you, it is May 14, 0226 hrs. I am in a small room in Cuzco, Peru, way up in the Andes. I like to get things done in advance whenever I can.

For our first show together, I thought it would be best if we started out strong with Mr. David Bowie and his cover of the Velvet Underground’s White Light/White Heat. I hope you dig the Penetrators track that follows. My best friend Ian MacKaye turned me onto this band a few years ago. Wait until you hear the backing vocals. Tom Waits covering the Ramones is about as good as it gets. I thought leading with those three, we couldn’t lose.

So, here’s the plan: I will write up show notes kinda like these for every single one of these shows. I will post them on my site, HenryRollins.com and they will also be posted on RadioHelsinki.fi, so you can get at them two different ways. I will try to have them at Radio Helsinki days before the broadcast so they can post them whenever they see fit, and I will post them on my site a day before the show goes to air.

I have made notes for my radio shows like this for years. You can always go to my site and see what I’m playing each week on my KCRW FM show.

Below are all the songs we’re going to listen to. I hope you like this show! More to come.

RADIO BROADCAST #427 06-04–17

Fanatic! Another great show lined up for you. As I’m writing this, I am listening to the Boris/Merzbow collab. album Rock Dream. Such a great record. They do a lot of work together. Rarely are these sets less than three LPs, so you have to commit! Worth it every time.

What we have assembled here is what you will hopefully find to be two worthwhile hours of listening. I have listened to the final order twice now and it’s still working for me.

I had a chance to listen to Mikey Young’s new album. It was untitled when it was sent to me. I just went to the Midheaven site and there it was, ready for a June 16 release. It’s called Your Move Vol. 1 and it is fantastic. Since there’s a release date, I can put a track into one of our upcoming shows. Midheaven.com is your friend. https://www.midheaven.com/item/your-move-vol-1-by-young-mikey

There are some great albums coming out in the next few months and we will do our best to stay with it and keep you kept up.

Next week’s show is already in mid construction. I am working our June shows a couple of hours a night.

Thanks for listening and until next week, get your listening going and STAY FANATIC!!!

RADIO BROADCAST #425 05-21–17

Fanatic! I have been living in hotels for the last two weeks. This show was built over several nights in small rooms in different parts of Peru. In a few hours, I will start making my way back to Los Angeles. Three flights and twenty four hours later, I will hopefully stagger through LAX and into traffic.

Here are some worthwhile updates:

New Boris: https://www.hellomerch.com/collections/boris

New Guerilla Toss: https://guerillatoss.bandcamp.com

New My Cat Is An Alien: https://ellipticalnoise.bandcamp.com/album/mciaa-xavier-veilhan-studio-venezia-2017

The MCIAA is previously released material but in a limited 50 edition. This would be for the fan who has to have it all.

We will have a new GT track from the GT Ultra album next week.

As to this here show, it’s another warm weather collection! I have played it through a few times and think it’s ready to go. I have wanted to get the Lee Perry Kimble the Nimble track to you for a long time. I have a lot of Perry comps but none of them had the Kimble track, so I finally broke down and bought a download of it. It took all of a minute. The convenience felt slightly wrong but at least we have the track. We start our second hour with the great version by The Fall.

Hopefully, this will be two hours you will enjoy.

Thanks for listening and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! Good to be back with you again. Before anything, thanks to Fanatic Denise for sending in pre-order information for the next Boris album. Looks like there are three different color variants and it’s out in July. Here is the information.

As promised, we have the Dead Cross track for you. You can hear the song online with all the language we were not able to include on our show. The full album hits in August on Ipecac.

Speaking of Boris, have you heard the 4LP Boris / Merzbow set called Gensho? Several nights ago, I decided it was time. It had been sitting on the shelf for months. Sometimes, those multi LP sets are hard to take on. It’s another great one. If you were curious about Gensho, we have a track at the end of the show so you can check it out.

I’ve listened to this show a few times and I’m still liking it. I hope you do as well. I will start working on the next show tomorrow. Right now, I’m in a hotel room out in the world, working on two books with as few distractions as possible. I have a good routine. The streets, the gym, the room and then a great sushi place in the hotel.

As always, thank you for listening and we hope you dig the show.

Listen to a lot of music, make lists, document everything and STAY FANATIC!!!

RADIO BROADCAST #423 05-07–17

Fanatic! We have a great show for you here.

Hopefully, you will find this to be perfect warm weather listening. I have listened top to bottom twice and it’s working for me.

Next week, we will have a song by a new project Mike Patton has called Dead Cross. We have been cut loose on one song. It has some language issues, as far as FCC rules, so Engineer X had to remove parts of it. So, if Grave Slave sounds like part song / part sashimi, that’s why. He just sent it to me. I’m almost afraid to listen to it but I would rather play the hacked up version than not play it for you at all. I think we are in a post FCC world, with podcasts and other means of getting music. Terrestrial radio is somewhat limited but we carry on nonetheless.

I am just now getting to my RSD releases. I am finishing off the Stooges Heavy Liquid 2LP set. It’s mostly stuff you have heard before but there are a couple of things that I am not aware of turning up on other releases. So many of these tracks have been flogged so many times, I don’t see the point but I guess there’s always someone like me who will keep showing up.

I hope you got a chance to check out the RSD record that Larry Hardy of In the Red Records and I put out, the Pure Hell 1975 Acetate. Both tracks unreleased, only one copy of the source. Now, THAT’S a Record Store Day release, Fanatic. I think there are some left at Midheaven: https://www.midheaven.com/item/wild-one-courageous-cat-by-pure-hell.

So far, we have not been canned, so I am guessing that we will be back with you next week! Until then, fire up the stereo and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! Kind of strange not having a guest after two in a row. We are now somewhat back to “normal.’

A great show. After a few drafts, I finalized the order and listened down to both hours and I really liked it.

You will see that we have new David Bowie, from the No Plan EP. The songs are great and we will be playing all of them.

Next week, we will be starting in on some great music by FM St. Jude, otherwise known as our good pal and sonic ally, Fred. We have listened to him a lot over the years, ever since we heard Here Am I and of course Gang War. There is a limited release of some songs that almost got lost forever, appropriately titled Almost Lost. It’s great stuff and we will be rocking all those tracks in the weeks coming up. A crazy story behind the tracks that is included in packaging. Here’s your info: http://www.dragcity.com/products/almost-lost

I hope you had a good RSD. Larry at In the Red and I were relieved to see our Pure Hell release go out into the world. Hopefully, they all found good homes. I am so happy about the way the record turned out. We are trying to come up with something as cool for next year.

We hope you the show. Until next week, great listening and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! Remember last week when we had no songs listed because we wanted the facts to let themselves be known as they were happening? Have you ever seen a sentence that ran on that badly? What? Like so many others I’ve written? I’m sure you’re right. Anyway, Fanatic, this show is going to be a great one as our guest will be the one and only Ian MacKaye.

We were on the phone a few weeks ago and he asked if we could do a show together while he was in Los Angeles. You might remember, we’ve done this before and it’s always a good time. Ian got to work putting together the music. He sent me the tracks several days ago and they’re all great. I asked him why he chose these particular ones. He told me they were from bands we saw at shows together. This should be great for excellent music and good stories.

I hope you had a chance to catch last week’s show with Mr. Seymour Stein. What a great guy. I still can’t believe he was on the show!

If at all possible, try to catch Ian and I on this show coming up. He’s one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met and has an incredible memory, so it should be another great one.

Here is the information for the record Larry Hardy and I have been waiting to release for months. RSD is upon us and here is what the two of us have ready for you: https://intheredrecords.com/blogs/news/pure-hell

Thanks in advance and STAY FANATIC!!!

RADIO BROADCAST #419 04-09–17

Fanatic! It’s April 5 and I am still recovering from the greatness of Alex Cameron’s show last night in Highland Park. The man is amazing. Later in the year, I think we should serialize Jumping the Shark one more time. So cool hearing some of those songs live. Mid week shows are hard but Alex and his band were worth it.

You know that record Larry from In the Red and I are releasing for Record Store Day, the one I tell you about but won’t tell you what it is? It’s back from the pressing plant and I think I will be seeing copies soon. I am writing up the notes for it and will post them soon. Can’t wait to see this one.

If at all possible, I want you to try to tune in for next week’s show as we will be live in the studio with our very special Guest Seymour Stein. Mr. Stein started working in the record industry when he was a teenager. He’s in his mid-seventies now and has seen a lot. He’s got stories for days. He started some label called Sire. He signed the Ramones, the Talking Heads, Madonna, the Dead Boys to name but a few.

Weeks ago, his daughter Mandy contacted me and asked if we would be interested in having her dad on the show and of course, that was a yes. I was on the phone with the man yesterday and he was great. Go online and check out some of his interviews. He’s been in the business of records all his life and his enthusiasm for music is only growing. He’s a perfect guest for us. So, be ready for stories, music and a very unique show. I asked him if there was anything I could bring to the studio for him and he said, “Espresso!” Oh, hell yes.

Let’s see, the week after, we will have another guest. I think his name is Ian MacKaye. Apparently, he has made some records. We will see what he has to say for himself on the twenty-third.

So, we have the below tracks for you for this coming Sunday, then there’s Seymour Stein and Ian MacKaye the week after that and we have Record Store Day to look forward to. I would say that in spite of what’s happening in the world, there are some good things happening too.

We hope you dig the show and get ready for Seymour Stein!

Keep jamming and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! I am very happy about this show. I built it several days ago, played it through a couple of times, made a few adjustments and reckoned it was ready for your evaluation and hopefully, your great enjoyment.

The new Ty Segall single is really good. I like the new album but like these two new songs even better. If his next album sounds like these two songs, we’re in for another great Ty album. The two color version is out of print but there is a red vinyl version on the way. I have not seen it yet. http://suicidesqueezerecords.tumblr.com

I hope you got your Damaged Bug album by now. Bunker Funk is an interesting record. It’s different than the last two. I have heard it a few times now and I’m liking it more and more. It’s on Castle Face. https://www.castlefacerecords.com

In the Red has so many cool records coming out now and in the not so distant future, I don’t know when Larry will get any sleep until the end of the year. We are playing some of them tonight. Keep your eye on ITR. http://intheredrecords.com

New music by Dan Valor also known as Clarinette. A record called The Now of Then. Very good. We have a track lined up in hour 2. https://clarinette.bandcamp.com

A few days ago, I wrote Steph from Dick Diver to ask what she and the band are up to. She has a couple of projects happening and will have some new music up hopefully this year. She sent me some demos and they are really good. When she is ready to release, we will be there.

There is a new Lower Plenty album out called Sister Sister. It came out last year. I was sent the songs before then and told to sit on them until I was told I could play them for you. They forgot to tell me the record was out, so like a good Fanatic, I held the line. Well, the record came out like four months ago and we are behind the curve, so we have some catching up to do. http://bedroomsuckrecords.com/shop/lower-plenty-sister-sister/

Enough of my prattling!

Dig the jams and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! Did your Damaged Bug Bunker Funk album come in yet? I got mine a few days ago. Sounds great on vinyl as does the Crystal Fairy album.

Two great records set to come out soon on In The Red Records. Larry Hardy is tearing it up this year. Run, do not walk to these records. First, the new CFM album, Dichotomy Desaturated which will be out soon. Larry gave us the green light to start playing tracks now and of course, we did. Look at the beginning of hour 2. Great record. Also, Chain and the Gang are now on In the Red. They have a record called The Best of Crime Rock coming out soon. It is re-recordings of some of their earlier songs along with some new ones thrown in. The last time I saw them, they played The Logic of Night, new at the time, it really stood out. This song is on the new album and we have it on the show for you in our first hour. Both of these records will be available soon on In the Red. http://intheredrecords.com/blogs/news

Like I told you before, Larry and I are in cahoots, working together to release a very cool single for RSD. It’s being pressed right now. Since Larry and I did it, there are some interesting color variations. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THESE. So excited about this record. Get ready, get set. All profits from the record are going to the band. We want to see this one blow out in one day. We will announce soon.

We hope you dig the show. Already working on next week’s.

Keep up on the news and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! Obviously I have no idea from where you’re reading this but here in Los Angeles it looks like the heat is back and while the east coast is digging itself out of several feet of snow, it’s turning back into the desert with traffic here.

The new Damaged Bug album is out. I ordered up and can’t wait to hear this one on vinyl. Here is where you can go for more information: https://www.castlefacerecords.com/products/damaged-bug-bunker-funk

A few different color variations, most of them selling out almost immediately. Those who are so inclined, who were nine seconds late for class can look forward to seeing these records at inflated prices at auction and purchase sites online starting almost immediately.

The Crystal Fairy album came out and its run of floro pink vinyl sold through. There is a small run of lavender colored vinyl out of the UK and another small run of a different color planned soon.  I got a chance to hear the LP a few days ago and it’s a great one. We start our wonderful show with a track from it as we did last week.

For those with access to Netfilx, I would recommend the Danny Says documentary. The Danny mentioned is one Danny Fields. It’s hard to believe one guy was at the start of so much cool stuff in music but that was Danny’s life. It’s an amazing story.

For this show, we get to the other side of the Damaged Bug / Black Pus single that was just released by our sonic allies at Famous Class. Great record, great label: http://famousclass.com/

After a couple of drafts, I have listened to our gathering of tracks here and think it’s going to work rather well, that is to say, I’m on board.

I hope you find all these great tracks to be to your liking.

RADIO BROADCAST #415 03-12–17

Fanatic! Another week and another great show! I am just back from a week in Mexico City where I checked out Iggy Pop, the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of Rock and Roll, play three nights. It was a great time. Teresa and Omar from Crystal Fairy were there for the second night. As you can see below, we start the show with a track from their excellent new album.

I listened to Rain’s La Vache Qui Rit album a few days ago for the first time since last August. That’s a seasonal one for me, after August 31, it goes out of rotation until spring. I thought it would be good to put a track from it into the mix. It’s frustrating that the record is so scarce and expensive when you do see one. There are a few on Discogs but they are a lot. If you ever see this one, or any other record on the Peterbilt label at an affordable price, you might want to check it out.

The Tony Conrad documentary Completely in the Present will show on the 16th at The Theater at the Ace Hotel. Conrad was a fascinating musician and thinker. I strongly recommend this doc to you. Here is information:
http://www.acehotel.com/calendar/losangeles/un-private-collection-tony-conrad-completely-present

Did you notice the new Damaged Bug track in hour 1? That’s from a new split single on Famous Class. The flip side is Black Pus. Unsurprisingly, both songs are great. I think the color edition is gone but the black vinyl pressing is still available. Here is the Famous Class address for more information: http://famousclass.com/. It’s a good idea to get on the mailing list and get a heads up when these limited records hit.

Thanks for Engineer X, we have a sanitized version of H Eyes to start our second hour. It is restrictive, the language issues on radio but rules are rules. It is without a doubt, a great gathering of tunes that I hope you dig. Don’t you feel lucky that you like music? It’s not hard to find and always faithful. It’s one of the best deals humans get.

I hope you dig the show and listen to it at least twice.

Listen with intensity and STAY FANATIC!!!

GUEST HOSTING – MUTANT SOUNDS RADIO FRIDAY, MARCH 10 2017

MUTANT SOUNDS
Henry Rollins guest host
10 March 2017

Hello, fellow Mutant. Earlier this year, I met up with Eric Lumbleau & Matt Castille who host and curate the Mutant Sounds show on Dublab. I learned so much from the Mutant Sounds website. It was one of the best music resources ever. Many tracks I got from the MS site were incorporated into my radio shows for years.

In January, Eric & Matt asked me if I wanted to guest host their show. That was an easy yes and I got right to work.

What I came up with is much like the show I do on KCRW but perhaps with a little more emphasis on instrumental tracks.

If you are a Mutant Sounds listener, hopefully you will find these tracks interesting enough to listen to the entire show. It’s rare to get an opportunity to play exactly what you want without thoughts of someone getting steamed somewhere. If you want to hear more of what I’m up to with my own show, you can always find my shows online.

During the show, as per usual, I do a lot of explaining of what we’re listening to, how I found the tracks and where to get more information. I have a feeling that you would probably be able to get more facts about any of these tracks a lot faster than I would, so if anything catches your ear, as it were, there is plenty of ways to find out more online.

Eric & Matt are such great champions of interesting music. They do countless music fans all over the world a great service with their show I am amazed and grateful they threw the ball to me.

I figure we’re lucky to have an attraction music that is outside of the mainstream. It’s far more interesting to be skating on the fringes of anything than stuck in the thick of it. You might have had a similar experience to mine in that at an early age, I knew I was never going to be showing up for much of the regular thing when it came to music. Punk Rock changed everything for me. Hearing the first Suicide album around then made me realize there was a lot more happening and then getting turned onto people like Diamanda Galas, Iannis Xenakis (whose work Diamanda introduced me to about 32 years ago,) George Crumb and others that pretty much blew the doors off the hinges for me and that’s when things got very interesting. It becomes a mindset, an open-mindedness and curiosity that almost runs on its own power, sending you down paths of music that you feel so lucky to have discovered. A few years of this and you have more records than time to listen to them. I’ll take that over no music and hour after hour of silence any time.

Here are the tracks:

01. Mukhsin – no title available / Folk And Pop Sounds Of Sumatra Vol. 2
02. Augusto Klamm – Monologue / Poisonous Fragrances
03. Lydia Kavina - Improvisation / Music From The Ether: Original Works For Theremin

08. Devo – U Got Me Bugged / Hardcore Devo Vol. 2
09. Uton – Költö / Kähe+
10. Joe Meek - I Hear A New World / I Hear a New World
11. The Four Plugs - Wrong Treatment
12. Kieran Hebden & Steve Reid - Morning Prayer / The Exchange Sessions Vol. 01
13. Ensemble Für Neue Musik Zürich - Proterozoic Vox Balaenae / George Crumb

26. Scott Walker – Pilgrim / Bish Bosch
27. Les Rallizes Dénudés - Ice Fire / France Demo Tape Winter 88 - Spring 89

If all goes according to plan, this broadcast will cause one of the better problems you can have: a need to go the record store to get more records. That’s one of the best jams you’ll ever find yourself in. Thanks again to Eric and Matt for the confidence in letting me do this and thanks to you for listening.

Keep mutating!!!

RADIO BROADCAST #414 03-05–17

Fanatic! I am presently in Mexico City. I am here to see the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of Rock and Roll, Mr. Iggy Pop play three shows. The first one was last night. It’s a night on and a night off. Iggy and the band were great. They played in front of over 60 thousand people. Metallica is closing the show. Years ago, I decided that it would be a good idea to see Iggy play as much as I could, so when he finally does hang up his spikes, I will have done my best.

Now that the sun is down, I am on the street, checking things out. I am at a coffee place, watching people go by. The weather is cool and perfect for hanging out.

As you know, Fanatic, to a certain extent, we make our show according to season and light cycle. I know that one person’s warm weather listen is another’s winter favorite. I also know that a lot of people think that all this is nonsense and they listen to what they want. All of that is fine with me, Fanatic. I just can’t help it, some music speaks to me at different times of the year. That being said, I reckon it’s spring time. I know the calendar says it’s March 20 but it’s feeling like spring to me.

Over the next few shows, I will start transitioning in some warmer weather tracks. Nico is one of my favorite cold weather artists. Awhile ago, I found two very rare Nico bootleg LPs and was intending to play them last month but forgot. I am going to wait until at least November to check them out. I know that’s ridiculous but that’s how I am. There’s plenty to listen to in the mean time.

Crystal Fairy LP on Ipecac is out right now and there will be a lot of great releases this year. Speaking of great records coming out this year, Larry Hardy at In the Red Records and I have a great Record Store Day release that’s being pressed up right now. We approved the test pressings a few days ago. It’s a co-release between In the Red and my label. I came to him last year with the idea, he was into it and we went to work. It’s going to be a great one.

Just in case you’re interested, I put together a show for Mutant Sounds. They do their show at Dublab. That goes out on Friday March 10 at 2000 hrs. PST. Here is where you can get more information: http://dublab.com/events/29092/vas-deferens-organization-%e2%80%93-mutant-sounds-radio/

If I have time, I will write up show notes for that show as well, so you know what’s happening.

For now, let’s dig all the great tunes we have lined up right here, shall we?

I hope you dig the show and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! What a show we have for you. A lot of new bands in our second hour. As I am writing this, I am listening to Negative Growth by Ex-Cult. I think it might have overtaken Midnight Passenger as my favorite album of theirs. We have played tracks from Negative Growth before but to really get it, you need to hear the record all the way through.

Anyway, our show. We have been given the all clear to play any tracks we want from the new Crystal Fairy album and we will be using that to its fullest extent. Not a bad track on that one.

If you notice in our second hour, we have a lot of bands and artists that we have never had on the show before. I just got these records, so I am not at all able to tell you much about any of it, besides what I’ve heard so far is really cool. I will get into it as the days go on and hopefully have more information when we play them next.

I hope you dig the shows and that you are getting some listening in. I am turning in pretty good numbers, averaging about five records a day as I slowly bore through tonnage. It’s a great chore.

Now listening to the Alice album by Meatbodies, another great one!

Get your listening going and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! Another great show lined up for you. I can’t be sure where you’re listening to the show from so I don’t know what the weather is like where you are. Around these parts (Los Angeles) it’s quite warm to the point of feeling like spring. Some of our selections are skewed towards the slightly increased temperatures of the last few days. It sure doesn’t feel like February around here.

We have new Spectres music. Thanks to Joe Spectres for sending us the new Condition album. I am not sure when that one comes out but I will get that information. Until then, we will get more tracks from it to you over the next several weeks.

Worth checking out is a new band that makes its appearance at the beginning of our second hour. They are called Crystal Fairy. Very happy to be able to start playing tracks from this one. You can pre-order from their bandcamp page. When you do, you get three songs from the album. I figured those would be safe to play, so tonight, we start in with this album that we will probably play all the tracks from. It’s that good. Omar from At the Drive In, Dale and Buzzo from the Melvins and Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes. That’s the band. It is a great record. https://crystalfairy.bandcamp.com/

We hope you dig the show.

Keep listening and STAY FANATIC!!!
