This is an announcement about a book I have coming out next year in early March. It was about three years of work. The editing process was quite involved, it went on and off for about a year, but it’s now finished. The great Raymond Pettibon did the cover artwork.

Heather The Jerk’s very cool album, Scroll If You Love Devil, has gotten a vinyl release. It sounds great. You can find it here.

We are listening to a band from Berlin tonight called Teamwork. Cool record. Here’s more information.

By now, you might have seen the news about an amazing Cramps album called Gravest Gravy. I think it’s as good as all the hype around it. For months, we worked in secret, getting this record together. If you look online, you can probably see some interviews I’ve been doing on behalf of the record. We recently mastered our next Cramps project, which will come out next year. Ian MacKaye and I have finished work on yet another Cramps release, and later this year we’ll be working on another. If you’re a Cramps fan, you are in for a great time. In September, there’s a two song 7” from the sessions coming out, called More Gravy!. It features TV Set on the A side, with an alternate vocal than the one on Gravest Gravy, and a different mix of Can’t Find My Mind on the B side. The test pressings just came back and they sound great. Not exactly sure of the release date for that, but it will arrive at some point in September. When that firms up, I’ll let you know.

A professor at Vanderbilt University asked if I would be a guest speaker at one of his classes next month. Completely out of my depth, of course, I said yes. I just confirmed that for September 15. He and I met weeks ago and discussed topics. I’m going to sit in on one of his classes beforehand, so I can get the lay of the land if you will. I’ve spoken at a lot of universities, in a lot of classrooms, but this one seems different. I’m very much looking forward to it.
Next week, Lain, the man who runs the Radar615 Gallery, and I will be hanging the Alicja Trout collection of her flyers and posters from the many excellent bands she’s been in. That’s going to be a long day. I will be presenting the Cramps album in Kansas City the next night and then flying back to be at the gallery for Saturday night.
Upcoming:
Sunday, August 23, 3 pm at the Skirball Cultural Center, I will be interviewing James Spooner.

Friday August 28 and Saturday August 29, Alicja Trout’s cool collection of posters, flyers and original artwork will be up for viewing at
Radar615
516 Hagan Street, suite 100
Nashville TN 37203
The space will be open from 4 pm until 9 pm on both dates.
I know this has been a bit of an information overload. Actually, there’s more, but I’ll get to it in the weeks upcoming. Looking forward to the event at Skirball on Sunday. James Spooner is a highly intelligent and extremely interesting person.
Have a great weekend and STAY FANATIC!!!
