Fanatic! I hope you had a great week and that the temperatures were cooler than they've been where I am. Not trying to complain, but I’m done with 90° plus weather.
A few days ago, I was the guest speaker for a class at Vanderbilt called Dangerous Ideas. The professor who teaches the class and I had met weeks before and came up with a program for me to execute. I told three anecdotes where I would set up the story and right before I told the class what action I took, they were given a few minutes at their tables to confer with one another as to what they might have done in that situation. I was surprised how many people contributed answers. The best part was how thoughtful and sharp these young people were. It was incredibly inspiring. The only drag was moving from building to building in 97° heat. Other than that it was a great day on a beautiful campus. College looks like it might be a great time. Access to so much information, next level fitness facilities, libraries, food opportunities. I don’t know much about university life, but I’ve been to quite a few universities for a few hours at a time and it seems like a great way to spend a few years.
Buying records from overseas has become quite punishing. I don’t do it nearly as often as I used to. I just can’t justify the expense. I had to rebel against myself when I saw there was a new 7FO record. I think it’s going to take a while for the vinyl to arrive, but I’ve been enjoying the download that came with it. I’ve been listening to these tracks for the last couple of nights now. The days have been busy and I’m putting a lot of time into workouts. Last night, I got out of the gym right before midnight. I’ve got to get my schedule together.
